The Indian Northeast region can be categorised into the Eastern Himalaya, the Patkai and the Brahmaputra and the Barak valley plains. Northeast India  has a  humid sub-tropical climate with hot, humid summers, severe monsoons, and mild winters. This region has some of the Indian sub-continent's last remaining rain forests, which support diverse flora and fauna and several crop species. 

The southwest and northeast monsoons influences the monsoon here.This monsoon makes it the rainiest region in the country, Cherrapunjee in the Meghalaya  is one of the rainiest place in the world with an annual precipitation of about 11,700 mm. Temperatures are moderate in the Brahmaputra and Barak valley river plains which decreases with altitude in the hilly areas. April to late October are the months where most of the rainfall in Northeast India occurs with June and July being the rainiest months.
The Northeast India is having many tourist spots. It is having Wildlife parks, River island, Waterfalls, Reserve forests, Lakes, Temples, Historical monuments, Monasteries, Caves, Root bridges apart from being very scenic Natural landscapes.
